Is this a theoretical course or a practical implementation?
The curriculum walks through a GitHub-hosted project with runnable batch/streaming components, MDM, a simulator, FastAPI, quality checks and deployment steps. It is a proof-of-value and reference implementation; it is not a fully managed production service.
Do I need an AWS account?
To reproduce the AWS deployment yourself, yes. You will be responsible for any AWS charges. You can still learn the design and review the code and videos without deploying it.
